Alex led a most interesting and informative walk along the side of Pendle Hill above Sabden, on a blustery but sunny day. Several well-hidden earthworks and features were investigated, from the prehistoric period to the early post-medieval era. There were many archaeological features in the area. The walk included a visit to what is probably the oldest cherry tree in the county at Craggs, in what was the garden of the ruins of the farmhouse above Churn Clough reservoir.
The next fieldwalk is scheduled for Saturday 13th July meeting for a pre-walk coffee and chat at 10.30am in Booths cafe, Barrowford.
Everyone is welcome to join what is always a Grand Day Out!
