Howard Harrison and Anne-Marie Imeson from Nelson Camera Club gave a fascinating audio-visual presentation, which commenced with a tour of Norfolk, where Howard’s mother comes from. Howard spent some of his childhood years in Norfolk and returns there as much as possible. His photos included:
Birds: Avocet, Bearded Tit, Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Dunnock, Goldfinch, House Sparrow, Lapwing, Lesser Yellowlegs, Linnet, Little Egret, Little Stint, Marsh Harrier, Meadow Pipit, Mediterranean Gull, Redshank, Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler, Ringed Plover, Ruff, Sandpiper, Sedge Warbler, Spoonbill.
Butterflies: Brimstone, Chalk Hill Blue, Common Blue, Green-veined white, Large White, Marbled White, Small Tortoiseshell, Swallowtail.
Dragonflies: Four-spotted chaser, Norfolk Hawker.
Flora: Broomrape, Clustered Bellflower, Common Rock-rose, Everlasting-pea, Knapweed, Lavender – Broadleaved and Matted Sea, Orchids – Bee, Fragrant, Man, Pugsley’s Marsh and Pyramidal, Pasqueflower, Poppies – Common and Yellow Horned, Scarlet Pimpernel, Sea Bindweed, Sea Holly, Weld, Wild Pansy.
Local scenes from: Barnack Hills and Holes National Nature Reserve, Blakeney Point (Lifeboat Station, seals), Burnham Market, Burnham Norton, Cley (windmill), Docking, Egremont, Fakenham, Fulmodeston (Howard’s father and mother were married in Christ’s Church), Great Ryburgh, Heacham (lavender fields), Little Snoring, Stibbard Manor Farm (Howard’s Great Grandfather and Grandfather were shepherds), Strumpshaw Fen Nature Reserve, Titchwell RSPB Reserve.

Coast, by Anne-Marie Imeson, where we travelled to: Blackpool, Fleetwood, Heysham, Lytham St Annes, Morecambe, Northern Ireland and Silverdale.
Bowland Hay Meadow, by David Threlfall, featuring images accompanied by Dolly Parton’s ‘Wildflowers’.
The Forest Floor, by Tony Mellor, gave an insight into some stunning fungi growth.
Feizor in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, by Howard Harrison, featured each season, and included Oxenber and Wharfe Woods and Stainforth Foss.
Colours of Autumn, by Anne-Marie Imeson, were highlighted at Harlow Carr Gardens, Harrogate, and Rydal in Cumbria, accompanied by Handel’s very relaxing Air From ‘Water Music’.
Urban Fox, by Howard Harrison, stunning images which brought the evening to a close.
